Ash Collins, Salon Manager/Creative Director
MOB Hair Salon Manager, Ash Collins, is an award winning, internationally-acclaimed hair stylist with experience spanning nearly two decades. Ash discovered her passion for hairdressing as a “tea and tidy” in her mother’s Townsville salon, a passion that is still so evident today.
For Ash, hairdressing is about much more than hair, she believes it’s a psychological makeover, “The new hair is just an expression on how the client is feeling on the inside,” she explains. And she says, seeing her clients leave the salon feeling better than when they arrived, is most satisfying.
Ash’s clients love that she’s always honest about what is possible and takes the time to explain the best approach to achieving a desired look. There’s always plenty of laughter too!
When Ash isn’t in the salon, she enjoys being active and spending time with friends.
Ash’s Top Tip: Never use any heat on your hair without heat protection. Heat damage is irreversible and leaves a “scar” on the hair, which will cause breakage
Claudia, Master Stylist and Colourist
While Claudia began formally hairdressing a little over 12 years ago, her hair journey began years earlier. At a young age, the MOB Hair Master Stylist and Colourist was taught to do her Oma’s hair – a skill she quickly mastered.
Before relocating to Sydney, Claudia ran a successful salon in her hometown Adelaide, and lead a talented team of stylists.
Energetic and realistic about her clients’ hair needs, Claudia gets the greatest kick out of seeing her clients feel good about themselves, “I love when people sit in my chair, it’s their time to relax, offload and feel beautiful.”
In her downtime, you’ll find Claudia down at the beach with her dogs.
Claudia’s Hair Tricks: “I absolutely love teaching my clients how to style their hair at home using hot tools, and what products they need to achieve their desired look.” Ask for a tutorial next time you’re in the salon!
Danielle, Master Stylist and Colourist
When Danielle was just 14 and still at school, she was given the opportunity to work in a hair salon. It was this experience that reaffirmed the MOB Hair Stylist and Colourist’s passion for hair, and cemented her desire to complete a hairdressing apprenticeship.
Now, more than a decade later, Danielle loves the creative outlet of hairdressing, and the fact that she gets to meet new people on a daily basis.
While Danielle’s a talented allrounder and strong in all aspects of hairdressing, she loves working with colour, “I find I can be most creative in transforming a client’s look.”
After a busy week in the salon, Danielle like to relax and unwind with a glass of wine.
Danielle’s Top Tip: When trying to achieve waves, don’t squeeze the plates of your iron too hard.
Ash McKlean, Master Stylist and Colourist
MOB Hair Master Stylist and Colourist, “Irish Ash”, has to be one of Australia’s greatest imports, or so her clients will tell you.
Don’t let her laidback demeanour mislead you, Ash has a tenacious spirit that guarantees her clients the very best results, every time.
Excelling at balayage, brunettes and blondes, Ash is an accomplished colourist committed to being at the cutting edge, in fact it’s the continuous training and professional development opportunities that she loves most.
Ash also enjoys the creative outlet hairdressing offers, “No one client is the same, and there is never one set way or approach.”
When she’s not busy transforming hair, Ash spends her time enjoying the great outdoors.
Ash’s Top Tip: Less is more – for a lived-in look, a good serum and a texture spray is all you need.
Jemima, Customer Experience Manager
Jemima only joined the team this year, but for her, the salon is already her second home. The MOB Hair Customer Experience Manager loves building relationship with the clientele, seeing their hair transformations and spending time with her “MOB Hair family”.
Bubbly and enthusiastic, Jemima is committed to creating the ultimate salon experience.
If she’s not in the salon, it’s highly likely Jemima’s enjoying time at the beach.
